Ideas on an Arabian nights theme party?

Im turning 16 and i want to have a huge sweet 16 arabian nights party. I dont want to go very expensive at all and im not really sure about what i should do could you please give me tips or ideas?

if you want a Arabian theme you'll need:

-some Arabic music(something that belly dancers dance to)

-hookahs (note: if this party is at home get some hookahs if its at a public place, i would have to ask around, b/c hookahs are treated the same as ciggarettes, must be 18yrs old)

-prayer rugs(although they are used for muslim prayer, the designs are usally exotic and give an arabian feel)

-get a henna tattoo artist (ask around they are not too hard to find)

-Get some belly dancers, but if your on a budget try taking a class or get a video on bellydanceing.



-Insence(jasmine and lotus sents are a common fav)

-middle eastern food(some middle eastern resturants cater. if you want to make them your self just buy some hummus, kabbabs, falafil and pita bread.)

-serve some turkish coffee and mint or sage tea.

- go to a arab supermarket, they usally sell food or ingrediants to make a arab cusine but they sell other items that may help you with your party: like hookahs, prayer rugs, henna, and arabic CDs.

-keep the party place dimly lit, youll get a arabian feel if ppl sit on colorful rugs or large pillows with low talbes. design the place with vibrant rich colors like bright red, crimson, orenge.

-just keep on searching on some more arabian decorations, also try Bedouin and Indian styles.
