  1. Boys are so into transformers right now, I went to 3 transformer parties this summer. Optimis Prime, Megatron, and Bumble Bee are the most famous characters. And with $200 this kid will have a really good birthday.

  2. ummmm..... $200 is ALOT... especially for a 4 yr old. why have a budget? why not just give him the money so he can buy whatever he wants instead of you buying something he doesnt like?

by this age he should already have a fav cartoon, or superhero, or is into certain things. ask your friend...but seriously, $200 is (to me) a little TOO MUCH for a 4yr old.

  3. Go to a toy store and ask them for ideas on gifts for a 4 yr old boy, then get him something they suggest. You could also look up a toy store online and see what they have. Most things are listed by what is age appropriate. You should be able to find something.

If he is really special to you, then you could get one of those Leap Frog computers for young children or something along those lines. They are very nice but no where near $200.

Unless you are extremely well off, that is way too much to spend on a friend's child. All your friends will expect you to spend like that for their kid's birthdays and there will be hurt feelings if you don't.

  4. Uh. Does your friend know you are planning to spend that much? Doing things like that can ruin friendships. Present buying creates feelings of debt and resentment. There is no way I would accept something like that from a friend. I would be hard pressed accepting it from a relative. It would make me feel like I had to spend the same on your kids, and there's no way I could even if I wanted to.

$30 on a book should be more than sufficient. If it's not, he's a horribly spoilt little boy.

  5. A bike?

  6. I have a four year old son and he would like a big wooden train set that has tons of tracks, and hills to go over with some trees and signs to decorate around the track.  I think this is a good idea.

    i don't think you'll spend the whole $200 bucks.
