Ideas on first car?

Question

I am looking for my first car, something not too expensive. It doesn't need to be great on gas but not a v8 either. I have been looking at a 1995 firebird. I am trying to get some ideas on cars similar to it. Something sporty and powerful. I don't want a street racing car like a 300zx or anything. I dont want to sound to picky or anything but a t top would be lovely.

In order to buy a car, firstly you have to specify your fund, your usage and location (where do you live) for us!!!

I suggest BMW 3 Series Coupe. Certainly it's powerful, safe and stylish! And as you know it's one of the best sporty car in the world. finally be sure that it's not too expensive.

if you like firebirds, i would def get a firebird, doesn't sound like you want 300hp, so the v6 model would probably be fine with you, but if you do get a v6 and you are a little horsepower consious, REMEMBER, in 1996 the camaros/firebirds 6cyl's went from a 160hp 3.4 v6 to a more efficient 200hp 3.8 v6 that had a little more zip and little better gas mileage, so if you do end up with a firebird, try above 95's, you can still get a t top bird and get 30mpg(hwy) Edit: the v6's even got down to a 15.2 stock quarter mile, lets see a pos stock honda do that!

It sounds like you are looking for a sports car and both these cars although not V-8, the firebird has Ram air which puts it in a class with v8's as is over 200hp nd 245lb'sof torque.  Almost as much as V8 and insurance will kill a first time buyer(age).  get a 2000 toyota Corolla and not worry about insurance, repairs or whether it will last.  corolla is the number 1 selling car in world for a reason or many so....You sound like you are trying to make your ideal car sound like a 1990 Chevy caprice or something when in truth you re beating around bush to get car you want.  just come out and say it.   Be smart and to impress friends is not a reason or smart or get what you know is right first car.Buying a car to impress is just making up low self esteem while buying a car that makes sense is being smart. Do you want to be noticed just because of metal on wheels?
