  1. Spend some time with non competitive games and other activities.  In six hours of dancing, boredom would create more hunger pangs than 200 would cover.  Do not bring food out until your dance is well underway.  When you do start to bring out your snacks, bring them out in shifts.  Use very small serving dishes and cups.  If this is an adult party:  BYOB, if you wish, is always good.  If not, you can buy flavourings and make your own drinks (just add tap water).  It all really depends on the time of year and theme.  You will receive much more useful information if you put more details regarding your party, in your question.  If you have enough friends, with enough different colours of dishes and cups, you will save lots of money.  Paper products alone will run you more than 200 for a lot of party types.  Bonfires with marshmallows and dogs would work on this budget, if you are going to be outside some of the time.

  2. Wow a lot of people with not much money.  What is the occasion?  Who are the people?  Friends, family?  Ages? What time will it be held?  Lots of questions to help determine what you can do.

  3. A very Huge Pot of chilli & beans with lots of rice.  Chips and all that stuff will still leave people hungry.  Not much you can do with $200.00.  And you might have some money left to buy cases of water. Anything other than water you won't have enough money.  6 hours is way toooooooo long to hold a dance and feed that many people.  Cut it down to 41/2 hours.

  4. Just because the dance is 6 hours long, does not mean you need to feed them for 6 hours. Take a break ( about 1 hour after the dance has begun ) and serve your meal. Call up each table one by one to the serving area. When everyone has been served, you are finished. You should be able to serve a pasta and a small salad for that budget. Check out a place like Sams for your hamburger and tomato sauce in the bulk size. You can also get your salad ingredients there. Check out he site below for a spaghetti dinner for 50. It would be easy enough to increase. You might find something more to your liking at the site.

  5. do pizza

    thats always good

  6. Catering!

  7. Hmm. Well, you'll definitely have to cook yourself. I would make something cheap, like chicken or pasta. Or you could order pizza, but that may be expensive. I would just serve appetizers/refreshments, like cheese and crackers, chips, cookies, brownies, mini cheeseburgers... 6 hour dance? that's a whole lot of dancing. A whole school day's worth of dancing! <333

  8. do the buffet style of service..

    much cheaper..

  9. Go with Chips Dip, Pizza, Soda (varity of choices) and sandwhiches, oh and lots and lots of music!

  10. So basically it's a dollar a head, not much to go on there.

Okay you need to make a big batch of Chili!!  With biscuits!  It will feed many cheaply, and it's filling.  You can serve corn chips and salsa as part of the theme.

    OR

Beef Tacos with all the fixins.

you see how I'm sticking with ground beef?!  It's cheap, and you can make large meals.

Lasagna with bread and salad.  Filling and can be economical.

Dessert.....cake.....you can make a  lot for cheap.

    Have fun!!

  11. I think the only way you can do it is to tell everyone to bring something.

  12. 200 people on $200.

    That`s a dollar each.

Buy them some gum. They should be able to make it last 6 hours.

  13. veggies and dip and cheeses with crackers, trail mix, chips, pretzels, different favored popcorn (search Rachel Ray).  Hope that helps ya.

  14. get a sponsor? liike a food sponsor..

  15. 6 HOURS of dancing? Better get some drinks first of all.  $200, wow even lunch meat is expensive!. Go for bulk items at Sam's club like chips, dip, and appetizer foods.

Are you allowed to make your own? Do a big pot of punch, water , chips, dip, veggie tray, fruit tray and other hordeorves. IF you're planning pizza, good luck with that.

Maybe you can get someone to donate food like your supermarket or walmart.

We even had party favors donated by the local restaurant for a 5th grade dance.

  16. You definitely need to get some sponsors.  That's impossible, you couldn't even give 200 ppl. sodas for that much money.  Hit up your local markets, not for 200, but ask for 5 cases of soda.  Ask a few pizza parlors for a few pizzas.  A sub shop for a few subs.  Even McDonald's will donate some cookies.  Asking for enough for 200 ppl. is a lot, just be judicious what you ask for.  Then spend your $200 on plates, napkins, etc.
