Ideas on something nice a restaurant can do to surprise someone?

my husband is coming home from iraq for his 2 weeks off out of the year, and i wanted to plan dinner at a nice restaurant, but wanted an idea of something they would be able to do before we got there that would be a surprise. like flowers, or candles, candy, or something like that? anyone have any ideas? thanks

Speak to the restaurant owner.

A small ethnic one will be more receptive.

They might prepare an entree off their menu or a special dessert.  Something prepared at the table.

If they can make souffles, that would be special.  Find out his favorite flavor.  Chocolate, lemon, or a fruit.

A French or Italian restaurant is more likely able to do a souffle.  Or a top notch one.

well if u like regulear food with cold drinks like pina coladas then u can go to Bahama Breeze. my parents went their for their anniversary, and they both had a great time. and if thats doesnt work u should do take out and bring it home so u can have ur own scented candles, and it will be very romantic. remeber to be original yet classy. good luck.

Usually restaurants don't do that but they will let you bring something in.

Order a banner for him to hang up in the room. You can get personalized M & Ms online.

He'd probably just be happy to be with you and share uninterrupted alone time.  Why not get a hotel room and order room service? Or if your only option is a nice dinner out, you could purchase a gift for him and have the waiter deliver to him w/ his meal or dessert. You could buy him a personalized gift with a special message. A watch, pocket watch, ID bracelet, necklace, a s**y photo of you in an engraved frame. Something for him to bring with him once he has to go back.
