Question:

Ideas to keep motivated when writing?

I haven't been able to think of anything to write to my story for a while, and I'm only about five chapters in! I keep on wanting to go back and add more to the beginning that could help the story later on but I'm stuck. Can anyone think of a good way to get ideas or get motivated? Thanks:D

  1. take a break from your daily routine and spend time with weird, unique, different people. Get into arguments with them. See things as they see them. Then when you get back to your work you have a fresh perspective.

  2. Try to do some free writing, it doesn't have to be associated with the story you are writing. Sit and write whatever comes into your mind..try this for 20 minutes a day. Often you will find that something you have free written will lead back to the story are are writing and you will be off and unstuck again. If you feel you want to rewrite your first few chapters do this. Keep a lecture tape recorder with you and record any ideas that come into your head, you may disregard 90% of this but the other 10% can give you some good ideas in keeping with your storyline.

  3. hi it seems u are too too eager to writing ...i think ideas/ur thoughts will turn to word if u take a little break, travel, sit in an open/silent place-like a garden or sometimes it even being in a busy place..where u can observe life/others..its fun..hoping the idea will help...

  4. I've joined a writing site called http://www.chapteread.com. It's pretty motivating to see other post their work and it really helps to be around other writers. It's an awesome writing site!
