Question:

Identification for a Debit Card?

I just got a Debit card, but whenever I use it, I always get asked for ID. I'm under 18, so I DON'T have a driver's liscence. What should I use as ID, and where can I get it?

P.S. I realize a passport is Photo ID, but I don't want to carry it around.

  1. Tell the moron cashier asking for your ID, the reason you have a debit card  and not a credit card, is that only YOU know your pin, which you have to enter, to use the card in the first place.  Or simply shop somewhere else, they are obviously trying to be intimidating or are mentally challenged.

  2. Do you have student picture ID?  Otherwise maybe you can get a state ID.

For example here in Illinois, the Secretary of State which issues driver's licenses, also issues state ID's for non-drivers.  Or if you are from another country, maybe whoever issues driver's licenses there has an ID for non-drivers.

  3. You can go get a state ID . You can go and get one at your local DMV.
