Alright just wondering....just got a checking account..and applied for a state id a couple of days ago so I have a temporary piece of paper...well my problem is I want to go to the store and get something but I"m told to write a check I need a photo id and that my temporary one wont work...first timer at all this and mom is telling me it wont work....I WANNA KNOW THE TRUTH to see if she is lieing to me...thanks for any help...and I'm not sure if this is the right category...just thought state id cards would go somehwer under politics.....

  2. I see you really trust your own beloved mother!  In order to buy anything with a

    personal check, you must: a) use a check

    that has your name/address/and maybe

    phone number printed on it  b) have an I.D. with a personal photograph of you on it.

      When you get your state I.D. and it has a

    photo of you on it, then it's good to use for

    cashing checks.

    NOTE:  I will say tho that if you are under

    18 years of age, I doubt anyone will accept

    a personal check from you, even with tons

    of I.D.

    Another Note:  Since you are just starting out in the financial world, please do not

    try to cut any corners, or pull any tricks,

    you will be found out and once your honesty

    is gone, noone will trust you ever with money.
