  1. Good god, what an enormous question!

The most simple relationships occur when one work of art is inspired by another, as in Mussorgski's "Pictures at an Exhibition" or Debussy's "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun" or Don McLean's "Starry Starry Night".  (Hm--why am I only finding examples when musicians are inspired by other arts?  OK, how about the films "Immortal Beloved" or "Music Lovers" or "Amadeus" in general?)

Then there are the deeper rhythms and patterns of art that reflect subconscious values in the artists.  For example, the interests in ornamentation in the visual and musical arts of the Baroque period, the conformity to rules and precision in the arts of the neoclassic, the insistence on formal theory in the arts of the modern (1870-1950) period.

This question is the stuff of a doctorate in comparative arts!
