so today at work, this guy came in totally suspicious talking fast and looking around the work-area (i think to see if manager was there) anyways, he ordered something small and gave me a bill...the bill seemed strange to me...so i felt the jacket and the bumps were raised. i ran it under the black-light and the little strip didnt show up...i told the man to hold on and i handed one of the other employees the bill. they put if under regular light and the face came up...she handed it back to me and i looked for the red and blue threading-there was only blue...no red whatsoever. the man looked at me and took the bill back and cursed at me for thinking the bill was fake and he stormed off....the lady who was next in line came up to me and said, "if the bill wasnt fake, he would have stayed." i totally agree....

was i right for thinking the bill was fake?

  1. You are absolutely right.  If you have any doubt that a bill is counterfeit than you can deny it or ask for another.  You did exactly what you should have done, look for the bar, the watermark, the texture, the colored threads, and finally the color changing ink on the numbers.  I've seen some good ones in my line of work, you just have to stay on top of them and as I stated before, if you have doubt, ask if they have another bill.  Good luck.

  2. you could of burned it to see if it burnt black.
