  1. in a wwtp, many things require energy. primary treatment, secondary treatment and tertierary. the building with the lab work needs electricity, the control room...etc. i do know tha ACUA in atlantic city nj uses wind power to power most components. if you need more specifics and help. go to the ACUA website.

Not to mention the analytical laboratory, the management offices and the sludge control equipment. Any mechanical system sucks up energy like a vacuum.
