Friction?

Is 30, 45 or 60 the best angle to launch at?

Others?...

  1. Galileo says the greatest distance attained by a launched projectile from land is when it is fired at a 45 degree angle.  It's a fairly simple result of trigonometry.  That result is regardless of any of the variables like gravity, the mass, shape, size and initial velocity of the projectile, the density of air, etc. Those variables do determine the distance travelled before it lands, though.  But all that changes if you power the projectile and point it up!

  2. 1 Amount of force exerted by the launch

    2 Size/mass of ball

3 Wind currents, if any, at time of launch, that could counteract movement

The best angle would probably be level with the launcher; maybe? Or a downward angle to take advantage of gravity? Yes, that's it!

    Great question :)

  3. 45 degrees is the optimal angle for projectiles.

    Factors affecting distance include:

    1) force imparted on projectile at launch

    2) wind resistance due to shape of projectile

    3) gravity of course

    4) in long artillery shots temperature barometric pressure and humidity

        become a factor.

    5) also if projectile is fired and begins to spin the Coriolis affect takes

        part.

  4. 1.pressure within the ball

2.energy apply on the ball while launching ( Newton 3rd Law )

    3.gravity

    4. weigh of the ball

    5. temperature

    6. volume of the ball
