  1. ummmmm an owl

    idk

    its a secret!!!!

  2. It sounds like some kind of owl, but they are nocturnal.  You wouldn't usually hear them during the day.  Another possibility might be a loon.

  3. sounds like a great grey owl they hunt usually in early morning and have a distinctive call the live in and around wooded areas and in deep canadian woods here is a website about them http://www.owlpages.com/owls.php?genus=S...

EDIT: try this one also http://www.wwf.ca/satellite/wwfkids/Bore...

  4. You were out fishing? First of all, an owl, (in that area) wouldn't be out makin noise during the day. I bet the sound you heard came from the Common Loon. I go up north fishing quite a bit with my family and the most unique sound I hear on the lake is from the Common Loon. Its almost a mix between an owl and a parrot with that "whoo whoo whoo whooo!" Thats where the term "crazy as a loon" comes from....the sound they make (espescially the males) on the lake is remarkable. I love the sound they make and it relaxes me like none other...

You wont see them too much as they are a diving bird. They can travel great lengths under water before being seen, and will pop up where they please all around the lake.

this is a good example of the sound they make...hope it helps :)

  5. if your were in Aus, I would say its a bu-buk/owl (pronounced boo book)
