We found a mushroom the size of a breakfast bowl in Hamilton, Victoria, Australia. It was very solid. It went vivid blue and turquiose from a yellowish colour when a piece was broken off. It had not taste or smell. Can you identify this species. It was quite unusual

  1. iam sorry!! i didn't know about that, but i can tell u that it can be a wild mushroom...n be cautious becoz it can also be poisonous

  2. Staining blue shroom would suggest psylocybyn (excuse spelling) but of course you would know not to eat any mushroom unless you were completely and utterly 100% sure you knew what is was.

I site I've used for identification is Rogers mushrooms but I would not completely rely on this , there are better shroom site out there for those interested in 'magic' mushroom.

I've just noticed you said "it had no taste", don't eat it for gods sake you have no idea what it is !

  3. you must have encountered a bracket fungus .

Unknown fungus must NOT  be eaten . It is a dangerous thing to do .

Click the link / s below to confirm by size and shape that it is a bracket fungus . Beyond that , in the absence of any pic. it is difficult to comment =====
