I already tried to balance this equation but which of this is the oxidation half reaction and reduction half reaction?

Fe 2 MnO4- ----> Fe 3 Mn 2

Half reactions:

Fe 2 -----> Fe 3 e-

5e- MnO4- ----> Mn 2 4H2O

The Balanced equation is:

5Fe 2 8H MnO4- --------> Mn 2 5Fe 3 4H2O

Kindly, check if it is right. And how could i determine which of the two is the reduction half reaction or oxidation half reaction for other equations.

  1. Fe2+ >> Fe3+ + 1e- ( oxidation) ) x5  [ Fe2+ loses 1 electron]

    MnO4- + 8H + 5e- >> Mn2+ + 4 H2O ( reduction) [Mn gains 5 electrons]

    5 Fe+2 + MnO4- + 8H+ >> 5 Fe3+ + Mn2+ + 4 H2O

    You can find another way

    Fe goes from +2 to +3 => oxidation

    Mn goes from + 7 to +2 => reduction
