I need help. Can I still report this as a fraud even if the minimums have been paid monthy and has happend over a year ago!?

Someone stole my credit card info, and transfered their debts onto my credit card! The problem is I didnt know until recently.

My girlfriend uses my credit card regularly and has been paying off the minimums. She assumed that I was the one who transfered the balance and I assumed she was. Looking through my old statements I found that this occured almost a year ago! I have no idea who the person who made the transfer is. Someone please help.

thanks in advance.

  1. call the credit card bank and take it from there they can find out  or try to

  2. Speak to your credit card company. Frankly, it depends on who is your credit card company. I know for a fact that American express is very customer oriented, and is willing to help. Can't say the same for Citibank.  Do you have any paper traces or proofs to support your case? The transfer must have some kind of account numbers, if the name is not yours, then it is fraudulent activity.

  3. You can and should report it, but you are well past the deadline when they have to reimburse you for the fraud.

  4. Report it to your credit card company and file a police report -- insist that the police take the report.

Unfortuntely there are a lot of people who fail to carefully monitor their credit card statements.  From now on, ask your girlfriend to check off which charges she made.

  5. Making payments avoids late charges and reduces interest.  It does not mean that you agree that all charges are correct.

Report it to your local police and the card issuing bank.

  6. Hi,

I used "Credit Solution" to settle my debt and improve my credit score. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58%.It's legitimate. I came across this company on NBC News Special Edition.Check it out here:
