  1. What will happen is that the guilty person will be interviewed by the police and probably charged.

Nothing will happen to you apart from possibly being asked to make a statement to the police.

  2. I am a victim in the US.  I had to get a lawyer and start trying to clean it up.  It is a long hard process.  I had to file a police report.  Good luck. It is a long hard road to get it all straightened out...

  3. They will be prosecuted for fraud. You will probably be asked to make a statement to the police to confirm you did not make the purchases etc. If you have suffered any loss as a result of his actions, I suggest that you contact the police to check whether he is to be charged with any offences linked to using your identity. If he is, then you may be able to make a claim for compensation to be considered by the court which sentences him. Alternatively, you could consider suing in the civil courts in your own right. The only drawback in such cases is that such people do not have any money or assets and are not worth suing. The criminal courts can require payment in instalments, but don't hold out hope for recovering the full amount as often the defendant defaults or the sum ordered is only representative because the court has to take into account their means. If he gets a prison sentence, then compensation is unlikely to be ordered.

    Hope that helps. Good lcuk
