  1. You are going to have to dispute all the loans.   File a police report.  You will have to file charges against your father.  If you don't want to press charges, be prepared to start paying off that debt.

I am very surprised that your father was able to use your name to buy a house.  Normally, you have to provide ID at closing.

  2. Identity theft is a crime.  Credit fraud and mortgage fraud are also crimes.  Go to your local States Attorneys (district attorney) office and get their help.  You may have to fill out formal complaints and he may be arrested, prosecuted and jailed.

This is a very difficult decision to make.  You need to prosecute your dad, or you will suffer for the next umpteen years.  Remember ... credit reports, negative entries drop off after 7 years, and bankruptcy drops off after 10 years from last activity.  The problem is these sheisters will wait till the end of the time limit, make some trivial effort and keep the activity going forever (VIRTUALLY).  You are forced to take action.

Once you have your case open, you can then place all bad entries in dispute and force the credit reporting agencies to remove those entries.  Two things you need to google ... 1.  Fair Credit Reporting Act  (federal), and 2.  Fair debt Collection Act (also federal).  Fair debt collection act governs what is and what is not a legitimate debt, and what a creditor can do to collect their money.

  3. Unless you file a police report, the mortgage company, car loan company, and other creditors won't even talk to you.

As soon as you file the police report, send a copy of it to the mortgage company, car loan company, and other creditors, after you have called them and talked to their fraud department.

  4. As said, you are going to need to file a police report and dispute everything on your credit record that is not yours.  You might find additional information here (it's a government website - not one trying to sell you something):

    Good luck to you.
