What does your family\roommate do that is just plain odd and aggravating? When my mom asks a question about something she brings the item to my room with her. It drives me nuts and I tell her to leave the stuff where it is and I will come look at it. Its usually rotten food that she wants me to smell. One minute I'm reading or watching TV, the next theres rotten chicken in my face. I'n in some kind of h**l.

  1. XD: TOO funny, my Mom used to do that, just tell her re food, "when in doubt, throw it out."

  2. This is a cry for attention. You obviously spends hours in your room on your computer and she gets lonely.

  3. I don't blame you for feeling this way. I would be very upset if someone brought food into my room, because it could spill on the floor. If it were rotten food? I think I'd go bonkers. Having said that, is it possible that your mom wants to talk to you because she's lonely? She may use this sniff-my-fridge-rejects approach to have something to talk about.

  4. I think she's trying to impress the need on you to get your act together and take care of what you need to do. It's good for you for when you are on your own and it will all be on you. It's annoying but if you cleaned out the fridge as you should then she wouldn't have to do it.

If it's not this at all then yikes, I don't know. That's bizarre. I wouldn't like it either. It's why I made the suggestion to take care of it ahead of time (if it's possible).

edit: She's just looking for your opinion, too?  In that case, it is probably the bad smell thing. You could tell her that you don't like the smells either that it makes you sick.

When in doubt, throw it out. Date meat and get a food chart that tells how long you can keep stuff before it goes bad.

  5. Hmmmm....maybe your mom thinks it is strange that you would prefer to be called away from what you are doing than to have her bring you things to look at/smell.

I have to have someone else smell milk for me because if it is spoiled, I will throw up in it.  Smells really bother women, honey.  You need to know that.
