  1. iac allows air pass the throttle while closed it is  to achieve smooth idle and lets more air in to increase rpm while turning at a stop or while ac is on


  2. The IAC or Idle Air Control valve simply allows air to bypass the throttle blades in the throttle body, providing a stable idle speed. The PCM controls the opening size by moving a pintel valve or shuttle valve back and forth to change the minimum air requirement.  

  3. Controls the air going into the engine at idle. If it malfunctions, your engine will not idle properly.
