Young defensive midfielder, Idrissa Gueye has said that he is keen to do well for Les Dogues whenever asked and is not thinking about leaving the club this summer
Earlier in the campaign, reigning Ligue 1 champions, LOSC Lille’s midfield was composed of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rio-Mavuba-c31174. There was no room for Idrissa Gueye. However, despite not being an integral member of the side in the first half of
the campaign, the young Senegalese has already played 20 Ligue 1 games, taking advantage of injuries and lack of form of players he is competing against.
Everytime the youngster has been given a chance, he has always impressed which is why he is so highly regarded by coach Rudi Garcia and the rest of Les Dogues’ management.
Furthermore, Gueye is not worried about his chances in the starting XI. The youngster says that he is still developing and he knows that Garcia has his reasons when he selects him and when he does not.
“For me, it makes no difference, I work all week with this state of mind, be ready just in case. I play a little less, but the coach must have his reasons and I have to get stuff to work, then this is what I do. We all have things to work on, but if I take
one out, it is undoubtedly to improve my game forward.”
The youngster also spoke about his side’s main ambition for this campaign and also compared last season with the current one. Gueye feels that last season, his team had more adrenaline and this season, they were a bit jaded due to playing in the Champions
League.
“Of course that last year, there was probably a little more adrenaline. This year, the securities have already escaped for us to hang this up.”
Under contract at the club until June 2015, the young Lion of the Teranga has proven to be both patient and ambitious.
At the age of 22, Gueye has a long way to go in his professional career and there is no better way to develop than under the tutelage of Rudi Garcia who has done ever so well with the youngsters at the club.
