Question:

Iexplore.exe ... How to get rid of the b*****d?!!

Well, I use Opera. I switched over from Internet Explorer 7 because it had excessive popups for almost every page. Now, even when I'm in Opera, Internet Explorer popups come up!

I go to Windows Task Manager and discover that whenever an IE7 window opens, an executable called Iexplore.exe opens. So, I right click and end the process tree. A few minutes later, it pops up again!

I've come to the point to where I just leave the windows task manager window open and close the popups from there.

PLEASE! How can I permanently get rid of Iexplore.exe and the popups!

  2. Firstly Iexplore.exe = Internet Explorer, is Not a b*****d, lots of people use it and is very efficient.

for the pop-up problem, you may have adware, do a full system scan using ur  current anti-malware software.

  3. you have a virus do a virus scan and remove it

  4. You also have to remember that Iexplorer.exe is Microsoft's internet browser, and because of that Microsoft know its going to be there - so they programmed their other software to communicate with it to access the internet for updates, or whatever - If the program is constantly communicating with the internet for updates (and whatever ^^) then that's why it keeps coming back, killing the process will just waste time

Internet explorer can not be removed for this very reason

I was in your position a few years ago, but you can't get rid of it... Sucks i know

  5. You can't get rid of Internet Explorer, however, I wager it is set as your default browser. In Opera 9, Click on "Tools", then on the dropdown, click on "Preferences". The right hand tab is marked "Preferences". There will be a little box marked "Check if Opera is default browser on startup". Make sure there is a check mark in that box.

The next time you start Opera it will tell you Opera is not default, and ask if you want it to be, and you will click on yes.

In the "Preferences" box, there is also a "General" tab. In the middle of that tab, you select from a drop-down how you want Opera to handle pop-ups. Your choices are "Open all pop-ups", "Open pop-ups in background", "Block unwanted pop-ups", and 'Block all pop-ups".

You still need to be able to open Internet Explorer when you do Microsoft Updates, but if you have Opera set as the default, it will not open except when you ask it to.

  6. Ignore it?  You can't get rid of it in Windows.  Go get a Mac if this bothers you.

The most obvious problem is that you've got a program that is using the internet explorer in some way, probably a Virus or Spyware.  AVG makes a great product for the Virus portion, and there are 1,001 different spyware programs out there.
