No.  First the she is over the age of consent and second...I don't know if Alaska is one of these states....but some states have a certian age buffer zone, so to speak where statutory rape laws don't apply.

I'm not sure what the age limit is in Alaska.  It sounds like Bristol was only 16 when she became pregnant, but that's probably legal.

Her daughter is 17.  In most states, the closeness of their age negates the Statutory charge.  Also, the Palin family has made it pretty clear that they would rather see their daughter marry the father of child than send him to prison.

If Alaska had a different age of consent law and if I were to mom, I would convict him and then kill him for raping my kid!  But that's just me.
