Statistically speaking, what is your average starting hand? What hand would you be 50/50 with against any other random hand?

I think I heard Q-7off at some point, is that right?

  1. Mid-range unsuited runners. Like 9-10 diamonds.

  2. J-10 suited! I would almost rather have that than pocket Aces because there are many more possibilities. Straights, flushes, you name it!

  3. You are quite right it is Q7o.

Back when people started analyzing poker hands on the computer, they ran millions of hands in simulations against random hands.  There are 169 possible starting hands, and the one that came right in the middle, was Q7o.  To this day the hand is known as the computer hand.

  4. Q/7, you were right, it is 50/50.  It is known as the "computer hand" because after millions of runs on simulation software it is 50/50 against random hands.

  5. Q4 suited and Q8 off suit are right in the middle.

  6. yes
