  1. 8p subtract one orange from 25p which will be 9p then you will have 16p divide that in half that will leave 8p which is the cost of one banana

  2. 2x+2y=34

    2x+y=25

    y=9, so an orange costs 9p

    x+y=17 (divide first eqn by 2), so x=17-9=8

    So a banana costs 8p.

  3. X=cost of banana

    Y=cost of orange

    2x+2y=34

    2x+1Y=25

    -----------------

    0X+Y=9

    Y=9

    2(x)+2(9)=34

    2x+18=34

    2x=16

    x=8

  4. 9p

  5. 2x+2y=34           2x+y=25

    y=25-2x

    2x=2(25-2x)=34

    2x+50-4x=34

    -2x=-16

    x=8

    The banana's each cost 8p

  6. 8p

  7. just give them 50p and buy a banana and see what change you get then deduct it from 50

  8. 2b + 2o = 34p

    2b+1o = 25p

    1o = 9p

    --------------------------------------...

    2b + 1(9) = 25p

    2b +9 = 25p

    2b = 25p-9

    2b = 16p

    ∴ 1 banana = 16p

  9. 34 - 25 = 9

    25 - 9 = 16

    16 / 2 = 8

    The answer's 8p :)

  10. the cost of 1 banana is 8p
