If 7-11 is a 24 hours convenience store, why do they need locks on their front doors?

Lol.  Interesting question that deserves my star.  Based on what I know about setting up shop, there are always occasions when shops have to be temporarily closed for business.  Examples are when there is a/an:-

1.  stock taking;

2.  staff meeting;

3.  unfortunate death of key staff or owner, and shops are closed as mark of respect;

4.  dinner and dance for all staff, and shops are closed to encourage staff to attend;

5.  company trips or staff welfare events;

6.  major calamity like fire, power failure, flood or natural disasters in or around the shops such that business has to be halted.

If they have no doors when they have to close for business in all these situations, all goods will be taken away by freeloaders, and the shops will really be out of business for good.
