Question:

If 9.2 million was the purse at the brickyard, why didnt they give the winner a million?

as a matter of fact how is the purse determined...is it a ceratin percentage of the total revenue they make and do they pay the officials, vendors, tv crews and everyone else and give the rest to the racers...im curious

  5. It depends on the venue.

    Each race has a percentage for final finishing spot, laps run, laps led, etc.

    There are sponsor bonuses paid for the finishing spot.

    The purse is decided before hand, usually with money put up by the sponsors. the officials, track crews, etc are usually paid from the receipts at the door/gate.
