If A Blind Man Was In A Dark Room And Somebody Turned A Light On Would He Know Any Difference?

  1. Depends on his type of blindness... some people are completely void of light and color... this guy would (agreeing with the person above) would hear the switch, the hum of the bulb, and (depending on the bulb) the heat from the lamp.

    If it's someone who just has the inability to focus to the point they cant notice distinguishable differences between objects - than yes... that person would completely know the difference between lights on and lights off.  

    I think - unless this person is recently blind and hasnt developed their other senses yet - than a blind man WOULD be able to tell when the lights were turned on.

  6. Probably.  In the case of household lights you would hear the person flip the switch.

    If you are in an industrial setting you would still be able to tell because fluorescent lights emit a low frequency "buzz" sound when they are on.
