If AFL players are great athletes why wouldn't Barry Hall fight Willie Mason ?

It's common knowledge Hall has backed down from a fight with Mason, Masons big yeh but hes not the toughest or handiest "boxer" in the game ! Ok Masons brother is a Heavey Weight contender in Australia, but Willies not. Are all AFL players cowards or wear a girls blouse ?

WTF are you talking about you tosser? Hall is a proffessional footballer, not a boxer, hence he is concentrating on footy now. If he was to fight Willy in a couple of years it would be great, and he would win, too. Just because he has been challenged, doesnt mean he has to fight. its not the schoolyard, champ.

Being 'tough' doesn't all depend on boxing talent as anyone but an absolute freaking half wit would know.  And not wanting to be labelled in the same category as little willie Mason would be a fair incentive not to box the moron.  So whether Baz thinks or knows he could wallop the clown from bankstown will remain unknown.

Of course if anyone thinks Barry's not tough enough it's always open for them to walk up to him and kick him in the shins and hand him a handbag ...

Probably because big bazza has a bit of humility and doesn't want to ruin masons reputation as a supposedly hard man  of league,johnny Lewis (your great Sydney trainer) even said Barry hall could easily become the heavy weight champ of Australia and there is home footage of Barry hall as a kid at a karate comp,where he gives the other bloke a standing head kick and knocks him cold,i know who id back in the ring.

I agree with Richo on this one. Hall is a lot smarter than Willy and that is perhaps where you are getting confused. Mason has already been kicked out of one team for wanting to pursue boxing, I think Hall is smarter than that.

There is a time for footy and a time for boxing. Even Mundine would agree to that.

when u make as much money as they do, why  fight and have potential to ruin there career. if they fight after they retire would be a smarter option and a good fight to see. i think Hall just  smarter and don't want to bugger footy career. i can see the fight happening when Hall retires possibly.  summing it up AFL players got more brains than NRL players,lol.

Hall trains as a AFL footballer , not as a fighter ,even though he could handle himself in the ring .     A racehorse trains to run on a racecourse ,a trotter trains to run on a trotting track.    The bloke you are talking about, may not be a top boxer, but how would he perform in an AFL Grand Final at full back on Hall, he would resemble a coward like a fish out of water in a girls blouse. The fact is he would "never" get the opportunity and if he did he would BACKDOWN !   What you said about Barry Hall, is illogical, crazy,unreasonable, irrational and weak!

I'd love to see that fight go ahaed, as I am a big boxig fan.

Even though both guys play AFL and League, they have boxed before.  I am unsure to what extent Barry Hall boxed, but I understand that he was quite good.

I'd like to see a charity boxing match, with all the pay TV money, gate takings and donations going to a worthy cause.

Truthfully, I don't watch AFL as much as I used to when I was a kid.  Here in Canberra, you can be sure the Swans get alot of coverage, so we get to see Barry Hall alot.

He's a big scary man and if he wasn't originally a Mexican, he wouldn't look out of place in a Bulldogs or Eels jumper
