Bearing in mind the rivalry between the Aussies & Poms in the cricket - could you barrack for the Pies if you were the supporter of another AFL team?

My dad would kill me if I went for Collingwood he is a pom plus he hates the Pies with a passion but I wouldn't anyway.

By the the way AJ dad got called a pom by his mates all the time at work he would think they didn't like him anymore if they stopped.

I'd probably go for the pies although i'd be hating myself for it. I'd be secretly hoping that the pies lose though just to watch the aftermath.

I don't know how to answer it...... On one hand you have a team I hate with a passion...... Collinwood..... And then on the other hand I'm an Australian patriot therefore I would have to turn my nose at any pommy team? WHAT WOULD I DO???????

OK I've figured it out...... concidering the pommy AFL team would be made up of mostly Aussies that have moved there I would'nt feel so bad barraking for them..... So there you have it I would take an overseas team over Collinwood........ Says alot!!!

I'm starting to see a lot of Collingwood hate threads, not hate but against Collingwood but nothing to worry about we just turn the other cheek.

Also.. Why do people hate Eddie McGuire? If it weren't for him there would be no Footy Show.

EDIT: trav, the reason i hate eddie mcguire, isnt because he was on the footy show. it was simply because when he was a commentator, he was very biased towards victorian teams, and especially towards collingwood.

Although that would never happen... actually you never know with Eddie! i would of course go for the Australian team.. i would be shouting Australia tho, couldn't bring myself to shout out collingwood.

I would have to say Collingwood, because I am indifferent to the whole "we hate the Magpies" extravaganza; although I understand it because I hate Port Power.

So, I'd pick the Australian team...and to be fair Collingwood are a traditional Melbourne club and a founding member of the VFL in 1897 so that counts for somethhing.

But...give me England versus Port Adelaide and it would be a different story.

I was at The Oval (the one in London) in 2006 when Geelong played an exhibition game against Power.  Power lost.  (Nice.)  There was no game in 2007 and there doesn't seem to be one scheduled for 2008 so to be fair if there was an international game between England and ANYONE I'd not care so long as it was played in London.

Everyone in Vic hates everyone in NSW and vice versa.

Everyone in NSW hates everyone in QLD and vice versa.

Everyone in WA hates the entire eastern seaboard and vice versa. Everyone in SA hates everyone else coz they're stuck in the middle and everyone forgets about them. (Almost as much as everyone forgets about Tassie),

And we ALL gang up to hate the Kiwis and Poms.

Even if they're playing Collingwood!

If you're going to tell me you would barrack for the Poms, I will block you! State rivalries are nothing compared to international ones!

They stood back and watched our boys run over the hills at Gallipoli. They dropped atomic bombs in our backyard! h**l. They even won the Ashes!

I'd go for Collingwood, there i said it, now quickly give your best answer to whoever and get the evidence, being my answer off here.

I could never go for the poms in anything, even though if i'm watching the old      w o g  ball and they are playing someone, i'll normally go for them, having said that i wouldn't yell and carry on like i do when the footy is on.

How about stop calling us "the poms"  ,and i would go for England. Most of the players would be from Birmingham as that is where aussie rules is most popular. and in terms of funding the team would be a lot richer and be able to afford better coaching staff. Don't really like the game but i would support my country in anything
