and the coal-fired plants are shut down, and then 25 years later it turns out they were wrong, do you think they'd allow the power merchants to take the coal-fired plants out of mothball?

  1. Sure you can - if  we are wrong. Not sure  though if you would want to re-open one of these dinosaurs in 2033 when we have been generating power for a quarter century without them.

Now a question for you - if you get your way to do nothing now and 25 years later it turns out you were wrong - how do you reduce the CO2 level back to 2008 levels and roll back climate change and droughts, and lower the sea level? Or has the thought you might be wrong never crossed your mind?

  2. Yea, right. This has nothing to do with carbon emissions and every thing to do with shutting down capitalism.

  3. The chances of them being wrong are so small as to not be worth bothering with (and even if global warming weren't a problem coal power plant release a lot of other nasties that we really shouldn't be dumping into the atmosphere, not to mention how dangerous coal mining is).

The coal-fired plants would be demolished (even before the useless wind turbines get taken down) although it'll only happen when enough nuclear power plants have been built to replace them (the public will not settle for anything else).

Besides, is anyone actually a proponent of global warming?  We want to stop it from happening, not cause it you idiot.

  4. is not coal our oil as far a quantity of deposits? it can be used cleanly or made oil from it.  But yes it's about shutting down capitalism which happens to be the best working system if people don't mind working. it just isn't good for deadbeats and freeloaders.

  5. see, this is why we're screwed. reality doesn't adjust to political arguments. why people think they can make AGW not be true by making fun of Al Gore just shows how pathetic our educational system is.

  6. I doubt it.  If they have their way we'll all be living in cold dark caves.  All that is except Al Gore.  He won't be changing his lifestyle.
