So lets say Rodgers has a terrible year and the Packers loose 10 games, and Brett plays well and the Jets make the playoffs. Are changes made in the front office and coaching staff?

  1. If Rodgers has a bad season it has nothing to do with the Jets and Favre.  Favre is out of the Packers lives and if Rodgers has a bad season then I highly doubt that Thompson or Mc Carthy will get fired.  He will simply slip back to second string where there newly drafter quarterback Brohm can step up and give it a go.  Being a Packer fan I will miss Favre however in a way I'm glad he's gone so that the Packers can start a new era and hopefully stay a good team.

  2. I would fire Thompson. he is a dumbass while McCarthy is a good coach.

  3. It's gonna take Rogers a year to get into the starting position. If he still sucks next year then yeah fire someone.

  4. The Packers are running a business for the long term. This is true in Green Bay more than any franchise.  Why?  Because they have a 40,000 season ticket waiting list.  The management, like in any business, has evaluated its options for the long term and clearly feels it is time to begin utilizing their huge investment in Rodgers and that it will pay off.  NFL teams recognize the need to win - this season and beyond.  They would not be going wtih Rodgers if they didn't feel he was more than capable - as demonstrated on the field (not in the gossip columns) last year against Dallas.  Being in management does not mean making "popular" decisions.  It means making profitable ones.

  5. Seriously?  Get over Favre...

Packers new to look forward and see how Rodgers will pan out.  If he does bad expect a new QB to be drafted next year.  Changes will not be made in the front office over what happens in one possible bad year.

  6. Yes.

  7. No, you embrace them. They finally got old #4 outta there. Its all a big conspiracy, you know they both secretly work for the Vikings. JEEZ

Don't you cheese heads ever get sick of talking about Brat Favre? My God, he's gone, just leave it alone. Let this very old story die. Just like his career is going to die in NY

  8. How can u fire them when u cant blame them? I understand Favre is a great quarterback. I wont take that from him. But dang every year its the same story. I wanna retire. Wait no I dont. No wait yes i do. No wait its about time for training camp so yes I do want to play.  So Green Bay thinks ahead drafting a good young quarterback. Now when its time to move on Favre wont let go. They have paid Rodgers for 3 years to sit on the bench. Did everyone forget that its his last year on his contract too? I dont blame Green Bay or Favre anymore. Its done. Trust me i live in Hattiesburg MS where he lives and they even tired of it here.

  9. They may have no choice but to fire them because the fans will drive them outta town if they fail.

  10. It depends. If Rodgers sucks, but the packers win, then no. I think they made a mistake with Favre, but time will tell.

  11. Yes! Release Rodgers, Fire McCarthy and Thompson, either bring back Brett or let Brohm be the starter!

                          VIVA LA FAVRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. I don't know what they'll do, but I think they made a huge mistake with Favre.

Actually, the better Brett does for the Jets, the higher the draft pick for the Packers next year.

  13. no farve was offered the job twice in one week before draft said no and got what he deserved

  14. nobody will get fired cause they will say its his first year

  15. idk maybe

  16. I highly doubt both TT and McCarthy will get fired. They just signed huge long time deals with the Packers which means, if they fire them, Packers still own them both Millions of dollars. money they don't have just to give away. Plus, that means you have to find a Head Coach and GM for next year in a short amount of time then some how come up with the money to pay them. It's best to let things work out over time in their case. A-Rodg will do fine, for the record....

  17. I don't think the Packers management will have much of a choice.  Fans will call for the heads of the coach and others who made the decision to let Brett go.  While I disagree with Brett putting the team in that position, but I think I'd rather have Brett on my team then not.

  18. The Packers will not fire Thompson or McCarthy.  They'll stick it out for the future.  Favre really did not want to come back but he didn't want to go to the Jets either.   Remember, if Favre has a great year the higher the draft pick for the Pack next year.

Aaron R. will do fine, he is a great athlete with a lot of talent who had the one of the finest mentor's ever in football.

  19. No, they made a risky decision and it comes with the job.  the talent they drafted will give them at least another year to overcome a failed season with Aaron Rodgers.
