The conflict is very old. It began 1989 when Georgians attacked South Ossetians for the first time.

  1. First war was 1918 to 1922 and Stalin stop it invading the countries and partaging Ossetia in 2 to put an end to nationalist wars.

Abkazia and S Ossetia independence ll just put an end to violences that ll not stop easily to go on the next step

Next step ll be for South Ossetia to reclame reunification with North Ossetia that is on Russian territory and Abkazia ll look after EU

That why Russia don't really want south Ossetia independence but just let thing the way they actually are(autonomic regime but not independence). They like to have Tampon zone at their frontiers.

US have everyone against them from EU to Russia on the region except Georgia so difficult to predict their move except continue to give billions and wait for an evolution

The politic situation is : US use Veto in UN against their independence consideration. EU under Germany and France influence did the same against Georgia for Nato. EU find ways to delay and try to oppose Georgia candidature in EU that US try to force like for Turkey

  2. It'll end up being a warzone I am sure.  This type of thing doesn't have a win win situation.  I wonder sometimes why Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice decided to even get involved with this when it is obvious that the UN, NATO, and the EU could handle it, and would do well from the idea that they need to do some things without the United States.

  3. Holla at my boy Ludacris down in Georgia!

    What it do baby!!!

  4. Your pro-Russian (or shall we just get down to the reality of it and call it pro-Soviet) lies are pathetic.  Of course the Russians want to steal some, or all, of Georgia.  There is that oil pipeline to consider, and it would put a dent in Russia's dominance of Europe's energy market.   There's is also the nostalgia for the "good old days" when Russia had vassal states to order around.

But Russia's intent has been pretty clear ever since the orchestrated the civil war... They want to control or outright own Georgia.

What's going to happen.. nobody else will recognize them as independent.  They will be barred from the UN and from entering any other international organizations.  Russia will find it's no longer welcome in these same organizations, especially in the WTO ( which it desperately wants to become part of ).

  5. Russia will try to integrate Georgia back. Long shot, though.

  6. Nothing, just like few weeks ago....  What will happen next? Both regions will get their Independence but as part of Russian Federation and Georgia will do absolutely nothing....

  7. Nothing at all. Bury the bodies that the Bushies killed this time...Karl Rove did it again.
