Back in the 80's there was a guy(Al MakInnis) who could shoot a puck 98 miles per hour with a slapshot. Now in the new millenium they have composite sticks that can shoot faster then wooden sticks. Now still the hardest shot is only 103 miles per hour. If Al MakInnis could shoot the same as he could in the 80's with a composite stick, how fast could he shoot a slapshot.

  1. Al Mcinnis, wasnt a fan of the composite sticks, stock to the old woodys prolly 102ish

  2. "Back in the 80's there was a guy (Al MakInnis)".  He also played in the 90's and til the lockout.

BTW his name is Al MacInnis and I'm sure he tried the stick.  He didn't like it because you lose accuracy with those composites.  He didn't need to add a few mph to his shot, so why give up durability and accuracy.

Also, he was able to get 103 with a wooden stick, and players probably get a little faster than that if shooting a one timer.

  3. I would think 110-115 MPH

  4. Macinnis. He played back tell 2004 when there WERE composite sticks and preferred wood. The stick doesnt make the shooter, and you have to remember that the added weight of wood can actually help you. I use stealth eastons at the moment and i still admit that with a wooden sherwood 9950 my slapshot is actually harder, but i dont like the weight and they break too easy on me. Macinnis shot 108 before at one point too didnt he? Guy had a rocket.

  5. 213 mph

  6. He tried a two-piece composite stick and didn't find it to his liking.

guys the hardest shot TIMED in a league-wide skills competition remains Al Iafrate's 105.2 or something like that in Montreal 1993 (rumour has it Bobby Hull had a 119.5)

  7. That game of chance known as my memory seems to recall that Al's shot was clocked at either 104 or 109 M.P.H. at an All Star Skills Competition.

  8. He really liked the wooden type sticks he used, he could get more power out of the heavier material. I think a composite stick would probably break with the power of his slap shot, and if not it would go slower.

  9. Al MacInnis continued to use a wooden stick even when composite sticks came around. He tried the composite sticks briefly and couldn't get used to them.

  10. i dont think hed get a shot of hed prolly brake his stick on everyshot
