  1. I think Britain, in goods and bads moments ever is close.


  2. There is no friend in country relationship. There is only mutual necesities, understanding, politics and diplomacy.

  3. Give one example of when the US has helped Britain voluntarily.

    WWII?

    No.Only entered the war after Japan bombed Pearl Harbour.

    Northern Ireland?

    No.Some Americans supported the ira terrorists.

    Argentinian invasion of the Falkland Islands.

    No.No help at all.

    The US government only ever refers to the British as friends when the British govt helps and supports them.

    The US has done little to help Britain.

  4. I'm a little wary about answering this question, so I'll give two answers based on answers of other fellows.

    To say France is Britain's best friend, I'll vote strongly for because they respect each other's sovereignty.

    Both are world powers yet though very closely situated, boundaries are respected and there is no reason to be at loggerhead. I'm not too sure what will happen if America and Britain were to be closely situated.

    To say America is Britain's best friend on the otherhand, I'll subtly agree if your claims are based on the ability of America to canvass yet coercing support from other nations.

  7. Maybe Canada.to darwins friend how about "lend lease"during WW2.Very few Americans supported the IRA.Mostly Irish immigrants.In the Falklands the US shared Intel and allowed use of it's bases.Besides did you really need our help.What about WW1?What did the US get out of that?

    Of course all those men you mentioned were Brittish. That is where they immigrated from. It makes no sense to continue to call them Brits after they declared war. Bet the redcoats fighting them didn't think they were very Brittish.

  15. Britain has always controlled the U.S.A. The USA citizens are still subjects of the Crown as written  in the treaty of Paris.

    Washington fought 9 battles and only won 3. That is not a victory.

    That is a very poor quality General . The American freedom fighters won only because they had massive help from the French Dictatorship .Ironic but true. Within 5 years France had a revolution inspired by the Ambassador Ben Franklin.

    Who was a British agent & always had been.

    Washington was a British citizen , A British Officer,who's parents were British, who's brother was in the British Royal Navy, Who's Wife was British . Whos house was named Mount Vernon , named after his hero Admiral Vernon a British Royal Navy officer.Washingtons army was 70% British born 25 percent  British American Colonials , the rest  were  Dutch & German.Washington fought all his battles with the British Union Flag with 13 stripes. Thomas Paine was a British born British Citizen. Ben Franklin was a British Colonial & British Agent. All the big cities of New England are in a direct Straight line with Stonehenge.

    Britians best Friend is Portugal . 1373: First Treaty of Alliance between Portugal and England signed. Portugal has never broken it. Norway is also a very loyal friend as is Australia, New Zealand , Canada, Chile & Brasil.

  25. "Lend lease"?, are you having a laugh. The US funded Britain's war effort to help America, FACT. I would echo bob's brilliant post, Portugal has been our greatest ally, and I just wish I would have given an answer before him because you can't really improve on it. Well said Sir.

    And I bet the redcoats fighting them did think they were British, hence the term "rebels". If Cornwallis had been a decent General, Washington and co would have been shipped back to London and executed for treason. The War of Independence was just another English Civil War. (BTW for those that scream "we have only ever had 1 civil war", war of the roses amongst many other conflicts

  26. The Republic of Ireland is probably the best and most faithful friend Britain has.

    Mind you, they have not existed for long and all the bad things happened when they were a part of the UK.
