  1. We'd have a Socialist government, and our addresses would read Street, City, North American Union

  2. You don't get out much do you?

I suggest you travel the world and read some history of this country.

You find out things are not as bad as the media is trying to make it out to be.

  3. join us......http://www.4thofjulybrigade.com

  4. If that happened it seems like they would issue us some sort of prize like a stimulus check as a distraction so we wouldn't notice how bad our situation really is, we will all just be at wal mart with our cash buying  junk food for our already obese children and more WWE wrestling figures for our kids instead of buying them a jump rope.

  5. We have gone to h**l in a hand basket. Chicago's murder rate higher than Baghdad's. Drugs and Drug Thugs gone wild. Politicians who are all co-opted by special interests and don't represent those who elect them. I could go on but we are all like Nero. He played the violin while Rome was burning and we are all going about our own lives seeing to our own needs and interests while the US goes down in flames.

It makes no difference who is elected Republicans claim to be conservative and then out spent the Democrats that they replaced when they took over Congress. They created a huge deficit of record size and started two wars.No matter who's the winner we can't pay the cost. Now the Democrats are back in the majority and nothing is changing. If someone says "if only the Republicans can get elected things will get better or if only the Democrats get elected things will get better" They are by their own words ignorant fools who are the problem. Wake up America its almost too late.

  6. I agree with ghost Rider; we're already there.

You can tell because our president instituted an act called "No Child Left Behind" which was supposed to beef-up the education system. However, it's main focus is on the students. What America needs a president that realizes that the education system isn't only about the students, it's about the teachers as well. In other words, there needs to be another act called "NoTeacher Left Behind".

  7. Simple- merely compare the important quality of life issues, i.e. healthcare, etc, with those of other developed nations.

  8. Here's how you'll know...  I work for a public power distributor.  Last month we had a record number of "non-pay disconnects."  This month, we had almost FOUR times as many disconnects.  Our billing runs a month behind - meaning, we haven't billed for the hottest months of the summer yet.  Therefore, if the current trend continues (and we have every reason to believe it will), our non-pay customers who are facing disconnect could sky-rocket well past the current record.  Utility companies all over the country are experiencing these same difficulties.  There was a write-up in the state paper recently, as well as a Commercial Appeal article that appeared yesterday regarding utility disconnects for non-paying customers.  Our employees who are actually in the field working the disconnects have been threatened numerous times recently.  When the hottest months of the summer arrive, it may no longer be safe for our employees to shut non-paying customer's power off without the presence of armed security.

Also, look around you...  look at the world's food and water supplies.  Look at the price of gas.  A couple years ago, gas was well under $2 a gallon.  Now, in most places, it's over $4.  Look at the price of grocery store items - such as milk, meats, etc.  Farmers are struggling to pay current grain prices to feed their flocks and herds.  Cost of operating farm equipment and machinery has also risen due to fuel prices.  This, of course, is reflected at the supermarket.

Soaring insurance prices, health care costs, gasoline prices, utility rates, etc. that are WAY above normal inflationary trends, are all indicators that the country is headed to h**l in a hand-basket.  Not to mention, the housing and mortgage crisis has left scores of families bankrupt and homeless.  We are living in some tuff times... and they WILL get worse before they get better.

  9. I would be asked to pay more than my share in taxes for people who are unable to read because the school system failed them.

    Oh wait were already there.

  10. You would know it because the people (we, the people) stopped voting for people who uphold the U.S. Constitution and started voting for people who promised to give them the most "stuff."

What?  We're already there?  Okay, then.  That's how you know we've gone to h**l in a handbasket.

Vote for Freedom.  Vote for Liberty.  Vote for the Constitution.

  11. Most people would not know. Too busy watching American Idol and other trash. Or they are busy with other menial diversions.
