I was wondering if the civilian law enforcement will track down a military prison escapee/s. I was asking because the civilian courts did not put them on trial or sentence them and if they are responsible for tracking them down should they escape?

  1. It will be the military's job to locate them, but they are able to ask for civilian assistance.

  2. Yes they would, probably a federal agency like the U.S. Marshall's Office. Escaping from prison, any prison, is a civilian crime. If they have an idea where the escapee is hiding, state and local officials in the area will search as well.

  3. Don't know where you've been getting your information however in the event a service member was to escape from a military prison, that escapee is fair game to any and all members of law enforcement, it is quite immatieral if you're convicted by a civil or military court.  A member of law enforcement would be derlict in his or her duties if they permitted a known escapee to flee.  What you're suggesting could be compared to a law enforcement officer permitting an escape convict from Canada to flee because he or she wasn't convicted under U.S. civil law....

  4. 1.) Natl Crime Information Computer gets an UPDATE to ALL fed, state and local Law Enforcement agencies.

    2.) FBI gets an alert.

2.) Depending what the crime was, local law enforcement in home town or 'haunts' of the escapee will get advised.

    3.) Post office pictures

  5. It depends on what the person was incarcerated for.  if he is a murderer or did any other vilonet crime the civilains will keep an eye for them.
