  1. We have no way of predicting that.  I mean, did you see primitive reptiles evolving to  dinosaurs evolving to birds evolving to penguins?  I sure didn't see that coming!

By the way, we're still classified as great apes.

  2. Fat people.

  3. At the current rate just dust when the Earth gets sucked into the sun.

  4. Apes didn't evolve into humans.  Apes and humans evolved from a common ancestor.

There is no way to accurately predict how an organism will evolve because the factors which govern it are not predictable.

You have quite a bit to learn about science and evolution before you can discuss it effectively.  I'm not trying to bag on you.  It's just a suggestion that you should check out some books from the library.

    El Chistoso

  5. Humans will still be naked apes.

  6. I think humans will actually not evolve as much anymore.

Apes (or some comon ancestor, as El Christoso claims) evolved into humans by the principles of Darwinism, which basicly tell us about 'the survival of the fittest'

This principle is based on the fact that animals who adapt to their environment have a better chance of survival then those who don't. So for humans to evolve, some humans should be able to better adapt than others.

I think that human civilization has reached a point, where because of large social systems, the stronger now help the weak, and the chances of survival increase for both the strong and the weak.

Also, the social system that animals have (the stronger the animal, the better the rate of survival, the better social status), is more and more disappearing in humans.

There will be a very small difference between the chance of survival for weak and strong, and therefore its less likely for a certain 'species' of human to become stronger and overpower the other and thus for one species, with a mutation to survive more than the other.

The only evolution I can think of is evolution due to changing climate and the changing of the earth its self. Perhaps, in the future, when it gets warmer, humans will have lower body temperatures to be more comfortable in the heat, and have better ways to conduct heat out of their body.

As for structural chances, it is known that moving on 2 legs is the most efficient way of walking. So unless we attach everyone with bionic super legs, we will stay walking upright, and our body is pretty efficient already (this is why we are the most succesful 'animals' on earth)

So even though I cannot disprove that evolution will stop, it will go much and much slower than it did before. And maybe, some day, humans will have reached their ultimate form, and even STOP evolving.

This is my view on your question, I enjoyed thinking about it, its a very interesting question!

  7. emu is right: you cannot predict where a species will be in a dozen thousands year. Right now we're seeing a trend for losing the last teeth.

But I expect that evolution in humans will behave weirdly because individuals who would have died are capable of surviving and breeding thanks to our technological progress. I expect that sexual selection will take the lead and sexual selection has produced some flamboyant results eg among birds. Perhaps we should even coin a new term if someone hasn't done it before: 'social selection'. People from some social, racial or religious subdivisions do mate selectively and do have more offspring than the rest of the population (cfr the Quiverfull movement). There could even be sympatric speciation if a mutation arises!

  8. ho says that human evloution will happen judging on our belief that we can handle ,,,,,, the exposed technology that we have today?????????????

  9. Apes
