But you almost never see it as an option at Mexican restaurants.

  1. Blame me if I'm wrong, but I think it has to do with Augustus Caesar, or the emperor of Rome, Caesar.

  2. The traditional ceasar salad was created by an Italian restaurant in Tijuana, Mexico... So, originally, it was sold at an italian restaurant in Mexico and that's probably why it's stuck with Italian restaurants.

  3. Because it is italian. it was originally was made to be a salad you eat with your hands. Anchovis were added later to other recipes by the way. its not mexican.

  4. Y'know... I never thought of that before. You've got a good point, there.

I guess it's the same reason why the States have more pizza places than Italy.

People like to claim things as their own.

  5. Because Caesar Augustus traveled to Mexico but was Italian and is ranked high in Italian figure heads

  6. don't know about the salad but maybe you mean noodles are originally from China.

  7. You have never seen it as an option in Mexican Restaurants because it simply is not Mexican.  It was an Italian Chef living in American that first invented it.

Pizza was not invented in China or elsewhere other than Italy. It was first made in Italy.. now it seems everyone wants to claim it as being the inventors.. I read the other day how even the Egyptians claim it as their own.. No, it is not and as much as Caesar was invented here in American its roots are Italian.
