If California broke off, floated and rammed into..say..Japan, which country owns California?

definitely still a territory of the united states. nowadays not only geography determines the territory, politics does as well.

Well, that was the USNS Pueblo, an ELINT ship, captured by the North Koreans in 1968...commanded by Lloyd Bucher (he should have blown the ship up or had auto-detonating devices but didn't; his primary concern was for his men, not his ship). Hal Holbrook played Bucher in a movie about The Pueblo Incident.

Given all that, California is bigger than Japan, so we could duke it out with them for as long as they want ... we'd dazzle them with our brilliance and baffle them with our bull5hit. Of course, at least 1/2 the cars in Calif. are Japanese, so they could hold that over our heads. I'm sure we could work something out.

i agree, its Mexico, why you ask? there are already too many mexicans in the us and especially California.

if that happend it would probibally start a war from japan/ asia to usa/ north america   we would ask help from the europeans and they would attack asia, causing asia to ask help from africa and australia  then the world would be at a nucuular war which would pretty much destroy japan, california parts of US and it would prolly sent of so much toxic fumes killing almost everyone in the world so it would really matter
