Assuming that she kept the baby. We know they would have went absolutely berzerk if she would have chosen an abortion.

Considering Bill's history they probably would have criticized her family skills, maybe even saying she's not a good wife or mother.

I doubt they would be anywhere near as accepting of it as they are of Palin's situation. Pundits were way too critical of Hillary Clinton and, though not as extreme, very overly critical of Barack Obama. But that's what to be expected when any minority is running for president, I guess.

Imagine how they would have tied her father's actions into hers to 'prove' how the democrats have absolutely no morals. Never mind Hillary didn't divorce Bill and bit the bullet and stayed married and in doing so show more about family values than many republicans, including Senator McCain with his second wife. Is abortion more damaging that adultery and the ensuing break-up of a family? I'm so sick of republicans holier than thou attitude I could just vomit.

Senator Clinton has done a marvelous and meticulous job raising Chelsea.  Pregnancy and abortion are not options in the Clinton family.

I honestly wouldn't care. Sure, 17 is young, but its not like 13 or 14. If the child was ridiculously young and pregnant then I would be concerned whether it was a republican's or democrat's kid. I don't think its a shock that 17 year old's have s*x though, so I guess I don't get what the big deal is about her being pregnant. Just because her mother believes in abstinence, doesn't mean she has to agree. I don't think that this makes Palin look like a bad mother either. I have had friends who got pregnant in their teens and it wasn't because they had bad parents, they just made a mistake. I am a republican, but I do think that abstinence is pretty unrealistic. This won't change my vote though, because I think there are far more serious issues to consider during this election than s*x-ed.

Now Miss Bristol is pregnant again, the child Trig is certainly hers as well. I mean she missed 5 months of school at the time her mother supposedly had the baby and add that up with all the other strange occurrences surrounded Mrs. Palin's fifth pregnancy, and it doesn't add up to Mrs Palin being the mother of the fifth child. So yes I would have an issue with her parenting, or very obviously lack of it. The usual hypocrisy of the conversatives at work for the great american family.

Good question. As a conservative myself, I do think when a teen gets pregnant it slightly reflects on their parents in one way or another regardless of how they were brought up: the fact of the matter is you can teach your kids all the ways to be safe from condoms and birth control to abstinence, but they're always going to make those decisions themselves no matter who their parents are.  Any 17 year old is old enough to know what the consequences of s*x are, whether she's the daughter of the president or not. But let's not forget that chelsea had a wild side too. Didn't she cross a few headlines regarding underage drinking? Just goes to show you that nobody's perfect. *shrug*
