If China became a democracy....

Would or economy skyrocket or would we go into a massive depression (due to rising cost of labor)

  2. Neither, A democracy does not actually lead to a high cost of labor... What leads to high cost in labor is when minimum wages are enacted. China wont necessary enact them if they became a democracy. So they can be a democracy and can have 1/2 the population eat it too. Then again if it became a democracy it might just be socialist going back to Mao roots and impose a min wage.

    Then again a free china would mean a free system without the risk of the government ceasing assets so they would actually increase investment astronomically.  

  3. you mean like the US's democracy? China is going capitalistic and doesn't need democracy, like the capitalist in the US has decided that the US doesn't need it either.

  5. depends, if America gets their act together and starts doing a little work like offshore drilling, manufacturing, etc. then we should be fine.
