  1. Of course they would. So would the news media.

Notice how they downplay the coldest winter in a century by calling it weather.

    Funny stuff.

  2. Couldn't tell you but they are making a big deal out of this years "Smoglympics" in Beijing.

  3. Actually someone did call out the hot weather in Australia.  I won't say who, they know who they are.

Hot weather, cold weather, all new data to pour over.

Just because the data we've collected in 120 years shows a rise in temps does not make AGW or GW real.  It's still a theory based on a trend of a 120 years worth of data.  Show me 1% of 4 billion years of earths existence and then we might have some real data.

The Sun, is still, the largest producer of heat for the earth.  Anyone want to deny that?  Even at 93 million miles away, it's still the hottest thing in our solar system.  Anyone want to deny that?  The sun goes through cycles.  Anyone want to deny that?

But, if you listen to the AGW and GW fans, the sky is falling.  And there is nothing that we can do, but mortgage our future, eliminate breeding amongst humans, tax everyone in a 'clean country' to subsidize the poor countries so they can pollute more with less guilt.

  4. Of course.  There's a few hurricanes during hurricane season in 2005, and that's offered as proof that global warming is real.

A drought in the Southeast that's happened many times in the past is proof that global warming exist.

A warm week in Chicago that comes close to the temps during the Dust Bowl days shows that man is killing the Earth.

Record cold and snow in the Southern Hemisphere last winter and this year in the Northern Hemisphere is nothing to be noted.

  5. Well, here is the thing.

45% still don't believe in Global Warming.

45% do believe it is accuring, but are trying to prove their point to the other 45%

    2% don't give a c**p, and they don't care

1% is panicking about Global Warming

5% are trying to prove that Global Warming is accuring

2% Don't even know what Global Warming is.

So basicly only 50% do believe in global warming. And stated by the IPCC, Global Warming must be approved by 5/6 to pass as it is or is not accuring. So basicly, only 5% will care. That is so not much, so they will do their best to prove their point, but not will be done, even with the evidense of China, and Australia.

  6. Yes because these are the reasons for Global warming the total earth surface air temperature is heated up.

  7. Nope.  Ken proved that we wouldn't by pointing out that we haven't even mentioned that Australia just had its hottest January on record.

In response to rick's article, here was the only mention of global warming:

"Hot weather is becoming common because of global warming and climate change," said Sun Shuhan, a professor at the Renmin University. "Our countermeasures should adapt to the trend."

That's simply a fact. He didn't say "this heat wave was caused by global warming", he said global warming causes increased hot weather. No duh!

  8. I don't see AGW "zealots" posting questions all over announcing Australia's hottest January ever.  So the correct answer to your question would be "no".

The only hot/cold extremes of interest are based on the increasing frequency of them.  And the data clearly shows significantly more extreme warm nights/days and significantly fewer cold nights/days.

See FAQ 3.3, Figure 1 of the IPCC Physical Science report to see the actual trends:

  9. The weather in any given particular place at some particular time has nothing to do with whether global warming is happening.

It's about general trends over fairly long periods of time on a global basis. Global warming because of the change in weather patterns that it would cause, might make one place colder and another place hotter, one place wetter and another place dryer. It is very complex and cannot in any way be explained or proved or disproved by looking at such specific things like whether it is cold at your house or cold in China.

That's the problem with so many people who want to put in their two cents and don't have a clue what they are talking about.
