  1. I'm an Atheist, and I support vouchers for those parents that choose non-public schooling options.

  2. Atheists, buddhists, hindus, mormons, jews, taoists and satanists all pay taxes too.

    Get it now?

  3. I find it rather sad that so many  people do not recall or were never taught complete American History. Today students get a very watered down version.

Where were the first schools? Who where the first teachers? The text books that reading was taught from?

Have you ever read the McGuffey's Reader that children were taught from for many years? The sixth grade book is college level for today's student.

Many of our early colleges and places of higher learning had a theological requirement along with the other fields of study.

Yale, Harvard, William and Mary, West Point, etc.

During the late 1800's the population of the students was more than the educational body at the time could handle, so the educational system was handed over to the state.

Not so much the teaching of Christianity, but the retaining of the basic principle of the ten commandments...right and wrong behavior...

In many areas the school house and the church were the same building, 5 days school, 1 day clean up, 1 day church...

  4. What about atheists, Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, etc? They pay, too.

  5. Because public education does not include theology.

  6. I expect some murderers, racists and paedophiles also pay their taxes too. Would you want them teaching lessons about those things?

You pay your taxes because it is your duty to do so, to pay for public services which everyone benefiits from. You don't pay them so that you can dictate how those public services should be run purely to benefit you.

  7. They can teach it in public schools only if it's in some literature or mythology class.

  8. Luckily our founding fathers were wise enough to write into the constitution that religion and state need to be separate entities. If religion were allowed to be taught in school, we would quickly find our way back to the dark ages.

  9. So do Muslims would you like sharia law in School with stonings etc or would you happily have your child taught Islam?!!

School is for educating children not indoctrinating them!

  10. I'll let you teach Christianity if I get to teach what ever I want.  I pay taxes too.  But then you would end up with all the school days being filled with idiots teaching idiotic things.

Also, it is against the constitution.

  11. Gov't. is scared of truth.

  12. If they were allowed then the Satan worshippers would have to be allowed also.

    Get it?

  13. Because atheists, Buddhists, Muslims, etc. all pay public school taxes as well.

If you teach Christianity, all of the other religions would want their beliefs taught as well.

  14. Not all are Christians who go to school. I do believe there should be a 5 minute of silence to observe whom ever your God or Not is. Since there is not at this time, all who want to have to do without anyone knowing about it. I don't care where I am I take a moment to to be thankful. And I don't care who sees me...

  15. Because Buddhists, Taoists, Atheists, Jews, Kabbalists, Muslims, Satanists and everybody else who is an American citizen pays taxes to public schools.

Besides, according to the constitution, church and state should be kept separate. And public schools that are funded by the government would be considered "state".

I am a devoted Christian. But I don't believe that my beliefs should be forced onto others in public schools. If the constitution says that church and state are seperate, then church and state should be separate. Period.

  16. Cause it's a public school. If you want your child taught the tenets of Christianity you send them to the private school of your choice.

An atheist doesn't want my child's faith foisted on them at school any more than I'd want a muslims faith foisted on to my child.

  17. Everyone else pays taxes too...

  18. because Jews ARE NOT CHRISTIANS without JESUS. Jesus is a nobody among the nobodies roaming Jerusalem at that time, claiming they are the JEWISH messiah. Jesus did NOT fulfill ANY of the JEWISH messiah prophecies.

  19. because hindus and atheists also pay public school taxes.

  20. I am a Christian, but Public Education can't even teach enough math to get a child into Higher Education (colleges and universities) today.

We are sending young people to college without enough skills to get into college and college must retrain the students.  In the English classes, the first thing a professor does is get the student to write an essay to see if the student can spell, write and comprehend.

Our children need to pray in school, but the parents need to teach them the Word of God.  Parents are instructed by God to bring up a child in the way the child should go so when they get older they will not depart from it.  Parents are instructed not to raise rebellious children by God, because God clearly states that He will put the rebellious to death.

A teacher cannot leave their belief and faith at the door of the school house.  Our faith goes with us where ever we go.  There is no separation of church and state by our forefathers.  This was something Jefferson said to the Baptists.  Jefferson didn't leave his Christian faith at the door of the Congress.  He often had prayers and Christian teachings in the buildings of the government.  I hate to tell the other religions in America, but Christianity is the religion of the forefathers that founded this Great Nation.  And without the God of our forefathers, this nation doesn't work right.  Matter of fact, she won't even stand without God.

  21. so you are saying that because hindus, Jews, Wiccans, ect also pay taxes they should teach those beliefs in public schools too?

  22. Schools are for education, not proselytization.

  23. Great questions. Unfortunately because of the rest of the religious pay taxes too, they must not be biased. Though I have heard of some incidences that school have allowed muslims to pray. If that is so, EVERY Christian should be able to pray too!
