If Clinton didn’t have an affair with Monica Lewinsky would it of mattered?

It seems to me that the GOP would have found some other phony bologna charge against him, don’t you think?

And please don’t give me the old, “he lied under oath” garbage. What he and Monica did wasn’t even remotely illegal in any state. Had any of us been hauled into court for what Bill and Monica did the judge would have instantly thrown the case out and scolded the prosecutor. I swear, you republicans are incapable of any shame or embarrassment.

Again, the question is, would the GOP have drummed up some other phony charge?

I'm really not judging Bill Clinton .. for real .. but Bill did lie under Oath . and no matter if what he did with Monica was illegal or not -- it was immoral -- Bill was the leader of our nation and he should have portrayed impeccable integrity for himself, and for the office he held .. and he should have given honor for his wife - in front of all America.

Yeah .. I think it would have mattered if Bill had never had Monica.

i'm not republican, but the charge against him was not 'phony bologna.' he did lie under oath, which has absolutely nothing to do with the charges against him being valid or not.

to answer the question though, does it matter? he got caught, end of story. you want to go back to the 90s just to figure out what the ol party might have done?

It's like the South Park Movie, where Canada gets invaded for saying naughty words! Bush and his oil company cohorts (although it might be the other way round) can lie about w.m.d. in Iraq, authorise war crimes and generally ignore international law, but let a democrat do something seen to be wrong (although not illegal) and the full fury of the christian right will be unleashed upon them. The power of the free press (or at least the mega rich moguls who own it! Just as most of the press in England is conservative, and looks after the rich. And the working class believe them!
