  1. If he manages to defeat both Antonio Margarito and Oscar De La Hoya by the end of the year, then I think that he should fight Paul Williams next.  That would be the most sensible and most worthy fight for him to take because they have both already knocked out Carlos Quintana, and if Cotto beats Margarito, then they will have both beaten him as well.  Plus, the winner of that fight would give us a linear, Ring Magazine champion now that Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has retired.

As for the 5 fights that I believe he should take if he is successful against Margarito and De La Hoya, here is my personal list:

    1) Paul Williams- would give us a unified, linear, Ring Magazine champion, and the winner would be undoubtedly the best 147 pounder in the world.

    2) Winner of Mosley vs. Mayorga- if Mosley wins, then he should fight a rematch with Cotto because he deserves it- their first fight was very close and I would welcome a rematch.  If Mayorga wins, then its another big money fight that will be sure to make fireworks and draw in the fans.

    3) Winner of Joshua Clottey vs. Zab Judah- I think that Clottey will win, so then Cotto could fight Clottey to further unify the division.  If Zab wins, then I would have no problem with a rematch becuase their first fight was very exiciting and I would welcome a sequel.

    4) Andre Berto- he is the last welterweight titleholder after Williams and the Clottey-Judah winner.  I think that Berto needs a few more fights before he takes on Cotto, but if Cotto fights Williams, then the Clottey-Judah winner, that will give Berto plenty of time to prepare and have a few more fights before taking on the winners of those fights.

    5) Sergio Mora- if Cotto successfuly beats everyone else on the list, then he will have nothing left to accomplish at 147, so he should probably move up to 154 and fight for a title in that class.

  2. I think it would probably be Paul Williams. They man have exciting defeats over a common opponent, Carlos Quintana. Also, Williams is a title-holder and it would seem fitting to have a unification bout.

  3. he will go against mayorga

  4. I dont know if Cotto is gonna fight Oscar, but Im pretty sure he'll knock out Margarito. Cotto needs to fight Berto, people are sleeping on berto, he is extremely fast probably the fastest boxer as of right now and I know people dont like his defense but he is that quick to leave his face open sometimes. He's still 24, in about 2 years he's gonna be the best welter, real talk.
