Just wondering how Death was able to comprehend all the emotions that all the characters felt. It's possible that he could have just read Liesel's book and was able to read between the lines and all, but how was death able to talk about Hans and his time overseas at the war? I know this is a "it's just a book, anything can happen" kind of question, but i really want to answer it. Please help.

  1. You can look at it as that while Death only saw Liesel 3 times during her lifetime Death was able to see her entire life once he came to collect her at the end of her life.  A kinda of play on your entire passes by your eyes type of thing.  That is how he was able to tell the story.
