  1. Nole. It's hardcourt so I am expecting more out of him. If he wins the US he saves FedEx's azz 4 a period of time. If Rafa wins, we can all say bye bye Roger.

  2. I think Nadal should still be #1 even if Djoker wins the US Open. This is because ....

US Open and Australian Open are similar grandslams as in they are played on a hard court. Also they are played 8 months apart, Australian in January and US Open in August/September.

French Open which is played on Clay and Wimbledon which is played on Grass as as different as chalk and cheese. They are completely different grandslams played on surfaces that are so completely different from one another. Thats why winning French and Wimbledon in the same calender year is one of the toughest things to do in tennis considering they are played on very different surfaces and are played withing 2 weeks of each other. Players need to make major adjustments to their games and hence Nadals achievements are far far greater than Djokovic's.

  3. giving the same result as the year before, except that djokovic wins the US Open: federer will still be no.1

nadal and djokovic margin is still about 900pts. if djokovic win the US he will have additional 300 pts. and the margin only closes about 600 pts. the big 3 spot will still be the same: fed, nadal, djokovic

    ------------

if nadal wins in rogers (he will get 275 additional pts) and while roger lose about 300 of his pts, the gap between nadal and fed will close to about 150.

and if nadal can be a semifinalist in cincinnati (or roger losing again in 2nd round), nadal surely will become the #1 after cincinnati

oops. i'm sorry. i didn't read your additional details:

"not based on points I mean who has played like the world no. 1 the most this year and obviously federer has not"

i think the one who has played like the world no1 now is rafael nadal. the 2nd maybe djokovic. federer not as good as he was last year...

look at to whom roger lose in rogers cup yesterday? An unseeded player!! if he lose to nadal, djokovic or other seeded players, maybe it will be more accepted than lose to an unseeded (in 2 nd round also)

  4. Neither, Federer still the No.1 player..

I'm not a big fan of Federer though//

  5. Would be Nadal, because he won more titles than Djokovic.

  6. Well, so far Nadal has is 3-1 against Djokovic this year and 4-0 against Federer.  Djokovic's win at Australian was the only time he beat Nadal so far in 2008.  Nadal also currently has 6 titles to Djokovic's 3.  Even if you add the US Open in there, that would still keep Djokovic below Rafa.

I think that Djokovic's performance on grass and clay is worse than Nadal's on hard courts, so Nadal comes out ahead overall.

  7. Vamos Rafa ! New #1 xxxxxxxx

  8. Nadal must win the US Open to become #1.

  9. ahhh ... Nole has been a bust since the Austailian .... Nadal has been on a roll ... but man ... how can you dismiss Federer ... that is just INSANE!!!

  10. It will be Federer this year but it should Nadal next year even if Djokovic wins

  11. I can't believe I'm rooting for Djokovic! Go Nole!

  12. Nadal but I always love Nole.

    GO Nole!!!!!!!!!!

  13. neither, it'll still be Federer if Djokovic won.

  14. If Djokovic wins the US Open, he will still not have enough points to make him number 1.

Federer or Nadal will be number 1 depending on results from the next few tournaments and what happens to them at the Open.

  15. I would still consider Nadal the "tougher" champion and number 1 should Nole win the US Open....
