If Djokovic wins Rome, how many points can he gain on Nadal?

If he doesn't quit...he can have the points.  It isn't points he needs....it's class...and it would do for his parents to gain some too!  Something tells me that may be the impossib le feat.

There are alot of tennis players out there and most of them know how do be "winners" on and off the court...but that would exclude Djokoquit!

If Nole wins Rome, he will gain 870 points on Rafa.  He would still be #3, but will have cut the gap between himself and Rafa to a mere 310 points.

P.S. you tell her (French Toast), Tennis Is The Best!  Nole happens to be my favorite player, regardless of all the naysayers in this forum.

i'm not positive how many points exactly, but Djokovic will gain enought to get closer to nadals' #2 spot.

Nada.  He won't win Rome.  

Of course, you said IF, so only someone good at math could answer that.

Since, Nadal lost some points and Djoker is still in the running, I guess it could do some damage. So I hope Igor Andreev beats Djoko. I hope Gonzales does well on that side of the draw. I really like him, he has the athletic spirit that makes someone a true athlete.  

They should win a "die hard" award at the end of the year.

Nadal will lose 500 and gain 5 for the loss in his opening match.

Djokovic was in the quarters last year so he could win 500 - 125 = 375

so the total gain would be 375 + 495 = 870

Rafa 5930 - 495 = 5435 (fact)

Djoko 4750 + 375 = 5125 (your dream :D)

therefore the gap would decrease to only 310 points

French Toast, how can you speak for everyone in this world? You hate him, fine, don't say that no one likes him. I love him and his Tennis (and there are lots of other people on this forum and in the world who love him) and he's already doing way better than your roger federer at the same age. I hope his career will only go up from this point.

oh and I didn't know that for someone to win a tourney, he/she needs to be liked by people.
