  1. perhaps because it's not evil ;]

  2. It will be added to the World IRC bible in 2067

  3. 4. Because the authors of the Bible did not have the benefit of the discoveries of modern science, and the insights of the likes of Charles Darwin.

They were still tied into the rantings of their priests.

  5. It does say in, I believe Timothy, about "science falsely so called". If that wasn't a pre-warning about junk science like "evolution" I don't know what would be.

Did those bronze-age goat-herders telegraph that one accurately 2,000 years ago or what?

  6. how about this:God created evolution in some parts of nature.

  7. The Bible does say it is evil, in fact it places a curse on those that preach it.

Galatians 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Not only is evolution evil, any teaching that disagrees with the Bible is accursed.

  8. Oh, I just want to hug you like crazy!!!!

    LOL

The classification of plants & animals, as put forth by the SCIENCE community is actually mentioned in Genesis where God tells Adam to name all the animals.

You can't go wrong with that one, and it usually shuts those fundies right up.

  9. If the bible is the word of God why did God not write it and why did Jesus not keep a diary surely he knew people would follow his word

  10. Evolution isn't evil. It does however go against the whole god created man thing. That's why christainity dislikes the concept of evolution cos it's disproves the bible.

Personally I think there is plenty of room for both and that the bible is open for different interpretations.

That said, the theory of evolution didn't exist until a long time after the bible was written so of course it was never going to be in there

  11. The Bible is not a book on science... the primitive people who wrote the Bible never heard of evolution... just like they never heard of electricity!!!

  12. in the bible its states all were created according to their kind , it in no way backs up this theory of evolution . in fact evolution in no part is hinted at so darwin and others trying to explain the meaning and origin of life only had to look at the bible to understand why we and all ceation were created .dinosaurs and other creatures roamed the earth millions of yrs ago and in no way has a link been found to prove that from a fish (which is crazy) man and reptiles and mamals were formed . in the bible it states from dust you were created and dust you return . look at monkeys and apes how come theres no link around to back up any claim of our so called ancesstry and why are there apes and monkeys but no sort of hybrid living now instead of apes and monkeys . just as solomon was wise he stated all that is (meaning wealth and mans knowledge) is vanity compared to the knowledge of jehovah

  13. God gave us the story of Creation in the book of Genesis of the Holy Bible. If God had done it another way, he would have told us so.

Evolution is a false theory created by man.

  14. Psalm 14:1

The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God"

  15. because both evolution and the content of the bible are attempts to answer the same question...where did we come from? or how did we get here? the bible gave "answers" before we discovered evolution, so it couldn't have even included evolution in its teachings.

  16. *drinks*

Probably because there are Jews and Christians that believe in both.

  17. The bible was written by man, translated by man, the evil of evolution is a concept of man. Not god!

  18. May I ask why evolution is evil????

The church excepts it exists, it is natural and right, so whats the deal???

  19. It does: "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?  When man exalts his own flawed knowledge above the Word of God, it is evil; in fact, that is the very definition of evil.

  20. Just because evolution is a poorly thought out pseudo-scientific excuse with little credible evidence to support it and more holes than a trawler net, that doesn't mean it is evil.

  21. Because

    1. The Bible is not a science book

    2. Evolution is not evil

    3. Evolution is REAL.

  22. Because the writers of the bible thought the world was flat and the center of the universe.

Plus they thought women were 2nd class citizens and dark skinned people were savage animals.

We now know those things are not true and the scientific fact of Evolution is a beautiful thing, proving all life is united.

  23. Because Creationists fear that it contradicts the Creation story of Genesis. Evolution does not make man & the world in 6 days and take a break on the seventh.

Pointing out a fallacy contradicts the perfection of god's word.

  24. Hello,

Great question! I completely understand your point, and I would like to share my perspective with you.

First of all, you are absolutely right about the Bible never mentioning evolution as being evil. Evolution isn't evil at all, it is just a theory of how organisms change and adapt.

I will also tell you up front that I do believe in God. At the same time, I believe that religion without science is foolish. At the same time, science without God is equally not wise.

Personally, I believe God did create the world, and all atoms, matter, energy and everything else in it. He created things with the ability to adapt and change (look at all the different breeds we have).

But the point where I disagree is that it all started by itself, and dismisses the possibility of God. That is why I think a lot of religious people feel so negatively towards the concept of evolution.

Not that it isn't true (at least to some extent, it is debatable that new genetic information can be added, etc.), but it is the fact that many evolutionists or scientists (not all), dismiss God in the theory. They propose that it all happened in the absence of God, and thus self created.  So in a way, by only believing in science alone as the way it all started, people create a sort of "science" god.

So the belief that it happened without believing in God, or to state it another way, completely rejecting God, is considered by most to be evil/sinful.

About your other question about if God is all knowing why did He create things if He knew it would "cause controversy."

The truth is, even if God knew Adam would eat the apple, or evil would exist, or whatever, that doesn't make Him a bad God or mean He created evil.

I don't have perfect knowledge, but I know the future to an extent. For example: if my wife & I ever decide to have a kid someday, that kid is going to die. That is a fact I can predict without having perfect knowledge. Does that mean I still won't choose to have kids...no. Because there are other great reasons (for example: the relationship I can experience while we are alive).

Great question though! Have a great day

  25. evolution isn't evil, it's just wrong as a theory on how the world began. Actually there is indeed evolution, as someone who has been living in the tropics but born and raised in northern north america, I am getting darker skin after only 3 yrs

also i don't sweat like mad anymore...and I live in Bangkok, Thailand

  26. Yet another argument against the ridiculous bible.  I applaud you, sir.

Christians say "the bible is the word of god".

    I say "prove it".

    They can't.

  27. Who says evolution is evil?

Who is to say that God did not create us using evolution?

  28. Evolution wasnt a theory until the 1800's, the Bible was written in the 1st century A.D..

  29. I'm a nonbeliever and a student and therefore, I don't believe that evolution is evil. However, the Bible did mention that man would look towards creepy crawly things instead of their own religion. Funky.

  30. maybe god was hoping no one would ever ask how all this got here beyond the story that he gave us in genesis, he didn't wanna give us any ideas

  31.                                                                                                                     Evolution is nothing more than an unproven theory. End of story.
